When I started my business back in 2009, I was so meticulous about choosing a name. I was opening an online stationery store so I knew I had to have a business name and a good one at that. I finally landed on Elizabeth Victoria Designs. My full name is Elizabeth Victoria and I'm named after my grandmother. I thought that was perfect! It's lasted me for a little over 6 years and it's been really great. I shut down my stationery shop only two short years after I opened it realizing that there was no way I could compete with the big box retailers out there. And that was ok. I wasn't sad about it because I found licensing and realized that was for me anyway. No marketing, running sales, comparing numbers, updating the website constantly, etc.
It's funny how life takes you down different paths. Licensing my designs has really taken off for me and that's definitely the direction I am taking my business. In learning more and more about the business, I've realized that every artist uses their own name to market themselves and create their own brand. I mean it makes sense, right? Vera Wang. Nate Berkus. Beth Schneider! So after MUCH deliberation, and I mean A. LOT. You could even say I may have lost sleep. Ok, I did. For real. I've decided to let go of Elizabeth Victoria Designs and market myself under my own name, Beth Schneider. So, over the next few weeks you'll notice EVD fading out and the new branding coming to the front, starting with the new logo on my website! The new URL for my site will be bethschneiderdesigns.com. The design will be the same, just a new pretty logo in the corner! Hopefully this will be an easy transition and not confusing for anyone. After all, it's just me!
