It's been a whirlwind of a year. Things just seemed to have gotten really busy this year, but in a good way. In fact, a GREAT way! This news has been under wraps for a few months but I'm finally excited to announce that myself and six other artists have created a brand new global art collective called Four Corners Art Collective! What does that mean, you ask? Well, we have come together and formed one company per-se to advertise our work as surface pattern designers and illustrators to creative/art directors, buyers, manufacturers, publishers and more. We will share resources, advice, critiques, and be able to have a better market share in the surface pattern industry.
We are seven artists based around the world (hence our name!), myself in the USA, Emma McGowan in England, Jane Smith and Julie Anson in Scotland, Jocelyn Proust and Kevin Brackley in Australia, and Pippa Shaw in France. Not only are each and every one of them an amazingly talented artist, they are all the nicest, most supportive people, and in this industry, that is priceless!
We have signed on the dotted line and will be making our Surtex debut this May in New York City! Surtex is the annual art licensing show where retailers and manufacturers look for prints and patterns to develop their products. We are all so excited and can't wait for our patterns to become part of the retail world!
