Last year I designed a few doormats for a manufacturer and wholesaler called Entryways Doormats and I'm happy to say that the first one is now for sale! It's called Kaleidoscope and I'm really happy they chose this design. It was one of my favorites and was even on my big banner wall at Surtex last year! I have two more holiday designs coming out in the fall so I'll share those as they become available. Kaleidoscope is an outdoor handmade coir entryway doormat. I received a few samples and they are super thick and really nice quality. You can find them for sale now at various retailers including Home Depot, Houzz, Wayfair, and Overstock.
It's been a whirlwind of a year. Things just seemed to have gotten really busy this year, but in a good way. In fact, a GREAT way! This news has been under wraps for a few months but I'm finally excited to announce that myself and six other artists have created a brand new global art collective called Four Corners Art Collective! What does that mean, you ask? Well, we have come together and formed one company per-se to advertise our work as surface pattern designers and illustrators to creative/art directors, buyers, manufacturers, publishers and more. We will share resources, advice, critiques, and be able to have a better market share in the surface pattern industry.
We are seven artists based around the world (hence our name!), myself in the USA, Emma McGowan in England, Jane Smith and Julie Anson in Scotland, Jocelyn Proust and Kevin Brackley in Australia, and Pippa Shaw in France. Not only are each and every one of them an amazingly talented artist, they are all the nicest, most supportive people, and in this industry, that is priceless!
We have signed on the dotted line and will be making our Surtex debut this May in New York City! Surtex is the annual art licensing show where retailers and manufacturers look for prints and patterns to develop their products. We are all so excited and can't wait for our patterns to become part of the retail world!
You can read more about each one of us, see our work and what we've been up to on our brand new website! And don't forget to follow us on Instagram to stay up to date with our latest designs. We're launching a brand new Instagram Countdown to Christmas challenge where we draw something new every day. Read more about it and join us!
This never-ending winter has been a bit challenging between school cancellations and being cooped up indoors trying to keep the kids busy, so I'm a bit behind on telling you what's new over here at Elizabeth Victoria Designs! Spring cannot come soon enough!!! So anyway, here's a few things that have been going on over the past few months…PaperStyle.com has been very good to me! I've been featured in their email campaigns for the past three months as well as the header on their home page which highlighted my designs for the famous movie, A Christmas Story. The latest one came yesterday and features not one, but TWO of my bridal shower invitations, Colorful Bride and Krafty Wedding. Super exciting! The two invitations are below and you can click on them to purchase directly through PaperStyle.com. To view my other email campaigns and home page advertisements, click here to view them on my Press page. Hope everyone is surviving this crazy Polar Vortex! And as always, thanks for visiting!
