Minted Opens Pop-Up Shop in San Francisco

Minted has opened it's first pop-up shop in San Francisco! The grand opening was last Friday so I thought I'd share a few photos of the store itself. I can honestly say that I am SO proud to be part of this community. They really believe in independent artists and value their talent which is kind of hard to find nowadays with so many online print-on-demand shops. I have some products for sale in the shop and my bio and photo is up on the wall, too, which is SO cool! I wish I lived closer to see it in person!

They have also teamed up with Christy Turlington Burns to donate a portion of the proceeds to her charity, Every Mother Counts, which helps mothers across the world. In Style magazine wrote an article on it, you can read more about the partnership and details here. Another reason why I love Minted! Here are a few pics, you can also read Minted's article and see more photos. And if you're in the San Fran area, go check it out, the store is located at 222 Grant Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94108; they’re open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

I'm a CMYK!

I know, you're like, huh?! Last night I got the exciting news that I have been recognized as one of Minted's Top Designers in their CMYK Program! The program rewards the accomplishments of designers that have a certain number of wins and/or sales. I'm really proud to say I have 54 wins to date and I am now a CYAN! There's four levels to the program, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. The program offers inside perks to the designers as well as prestige and being named, as they call it, a Minted 'Top Dog'!

It wasn't an easy road, I can tell you that. I entered my first competition in September of 2010 and failed miserably. It was a stationery challenge and not only did I not win anything but my scores were horrible. And then I didn't enter anything for a year and a half. A year and a half!!! Talk about holding a grudge! In May of 2012, I got an email about a graduation challenge and figured, why not? I'll try it again. The initial burn had worn off, LOL! I remember exactly where I was when I got the email that one of my designs had won an editor's pick. I was in the car on my way home with my husband and babies clicked in their car seats in the back. I was so excited and didn't even really know what it meant! Did I win money? Will people actually buy my design?! Well, they did. And it was super exciting. I've been hooked ever since.

Minted's community of designers is absolutely amazing. Even though we are all in competition with each other, there's a camaraderie between designers and a respect that we are all working our hardest and our best to create something unique. Every time. I can't say enough thank you's to all of the Mintie's who helped me when I had questions or just needed some advice on a design. For that, I am ever grateful. I have grown so much since that first entry and I am truly a better designer because of them.

Minted has evolved a lot as a company as well since I joined, and have recently launched their new home decor line, which I'm sure many of you have heard about since I'm over the moon about it! Check out my Minted shop to see my latest designs including stationery, home decor, art prints, and more! And thank you, Minted!!!
