Last summer I was asked to design some paper plates and napkins with coral as the main color and I'm happy to say they are now for sale at...wait for it...Party City!!! And wouldn't you know it, Living Coral is the Pantone Color of the Year! Funny how those things work out ;) Anyway, the flower plates were hand painted in watercolor as well as the plaid napkin and the others were hand drawn including the boho style plate, diamond napkin, and dotted dessert plate. I hope you have a Party City nearby and can go check them out in person. If not, you can find them online here!
There's nothing better than walking an aisle in your favorite store and spotting your design on a product!!! Well, that happened to me last Friday. I worked with Aladdin back in January to design a few patterns for them to present to Target on their water bottles and travel coffee mugs. This was work for hire rather than a regular licensing deal that I typically do (meaning I sold them my patterns and they can do with them what they'd like) so there's no guarantee that the patterns will go to market. I knew they were for Fall of 2016 so every once in a while I'd walk the aisle and see if I recognized my pattern. Well, it happened and here they are! I'm so excited, they look amazing! The original designs I submitted were colored and I love how they gave it this monotone look and made the bottles themselves shine with color. There are three Panama insulated coffee mugs and one Panama water bottle. All are on sale now at Target and retail between $9.99 - $19.99.
Happy Friday! I CANNOT believe that it is already Labor Day weekend and summer is officially winding down. Man, it went by fast! Always does. :) I've been working on this collection, it was inspired by my summer vacation. My family and I went up to Traverse City, Michigan where the water is clear as can be and the sunsets are unbelievable. I decided to call it Solstice and it is available for licensing or purchase.
